Check Installation Requirements
Verify that your Mac model in under the supported devices compatible with the new version of macOS. Additionally, make sure you have enough available storage space.
Verify App Compatibility
It is important to check if your apps are or will be compatible with the new version of macOS. This ensures a smooth transition with minimal downtime.
Connect to Power
If your portable Mac loses power while updating/upgrading, it may require a full re-install of the OS. Make sure to plug in your power adapter.
Backup your Data
While is not very common to experience issues while macOS is updating, it is recommended to do both an onsite and offsite backup of your Mac before upgrading the system.
Verify
After the update/upgrade it is important that you verify your applications are working and files are all accessible. It is always a great idea to also review Apple’s website, macOS User Guide and support articles to familiarize yourself with the new version.

Check if your PC is supported
Starting with Windows 11, your motherboard must meet specific security requirements along with your CPU model. Before moving to a new version of Windows always check your PC specs are compatible.
Create a Recovery Drive
Windows does not have a built-in auto recovery solution but it does allow users to create a Recovery Drive in case an upgrade encounters issues; this should be your step number one.
Connect to Power
Connect to a power source while the Windows PC is updating as the entire upgrade process may take between 30 to 60 minutes.
Backup your Data
You should have an up-to-date backup of your Windows PC in case you need to restore data after the upgrade. There are several third-party backup solutions available for Windows.
Disable or Uninstall Any Antivirus
If you are using a malware or antivirus software other than Windows Security, it is recommended to disable or uninstall prior to the upgrade. Third-party antivirus apps may cause issues before, during and after the upgrade.
Verify
